2011 Inductees & Honorees
The following individuals have been inducted into the inaugural Larry Bruno Foundation Circle of Achievement for 2011. The induction ceremony was held September 10, 2011 at the Larry Bruno Foundation Hall of Achievement located in the Carnegie Library of Beaver Falls. The teams were honored by the Larry Bruno Foundation throughout the Friday and Saturday events.
Larry Bruno
Larry Bruno was the head football coach at Beaver Falls High School through 1979. He coached at Beaver Falls for 20 seasons where the teams compiled a 134-52-9 record. Larry played college football for Geneva College where he was selected to play in the 1947 East-West football game in San Francisco.
Joe Namath
Joe Namath played for the Larry Bruno coached Beaver Falls High School football team. He helped lead the 1960 Beaver Falls team to achieve an undefeated season. Joe played college football for the University of Alabama where he led his team to an Orange Bowl victory in 1963. His success playing for the New York Jets and Los Angeles Rams earned him an induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1985.
Jim “Bucky” Mutscheller
Jim “Bucky” Mutscheller was a star football, basketball and baseball player for Beaver Falls High School. He played for Notre Dame and was drafted by the New York Yanks. Due to a two year tour with the Marines, he never played for the Yanks but finished his 8 year career with the Baltimore Colts.
